Brazilian Footwear prepares record attendance at Italian fair

Aiming to further increase footwear exports at this time of resumption in shipments, the Brazilian Association of footwear industries (Abicalçados), through Brazilian Footwear, a program to support exports of the sector maintained in partnership with the Brazilian Agency for Export and Investment Promotion (ApexBrasil), prepares the largest green-yellow participation in the history of Expo Riva Schuh. The 97th edition of the Italian Fair, which takes place in Riva del Garda, between June 11th and 14th, will have the participation of 46 Brazilian brands.

Abicalçados' Relationship Analyst Aline Maldaner highlights the growing interest of Brazilian brands in the Italian fair, characterized by the large volume of sales made in loco and arranged. “We live in a unique moment for Brazilian footwear exports and the Italian fair presents itself as another relevant opportunity to be on the international circuit and before some of the main players in the world, especially in Europe”, she comments.

Good moment
Between January and April, Brazilian footwear exports totaled 53.72 million pairs, which generated US$ 434.65 million, superior results both in volume (+32.6%) and in revenue (+68.2%) compared to the same period last year. Cutting out European countries, exports for the period totaled 13.54 million pairs, which generated US$ 85 million, growth of 36.8% and 48.2%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2021.
