Brazilian shoes in the global showcase

Aiming to encourage exports in the digital environment, a trend reinforced during the new coronavirus pandemic, the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) are now working at promoting the digital trade of Brazilian footwear with the world's largest B2B (business-to-business) platform. As of January 2021, the organizations join the website to the U.S. platform Joor and its more than 200 thousand international buyers from 144 countries, 40% of them North American. Brands interested in the action can register until January 8 of next year.

Abicalçados's Trade Promotion analyst, Ruisa Scheffel, explains that the participating Brazilian brands will be highlighted on the page (read below), with the possibility of offering direct digital sales, a tool provided by Joor and required by major international players, especially in the United States. “Brazilian brands will rely on a series of sales tools provided by Joor and will be able to market their products directly, quickly, and safely. Besides, the project includes specific digital marketing actions to promote the platforms and participating brands,” says Scheffel, emphasizing that the action takes place between January and June 2021.

Joor's CEO, Kristin Savilla, notes that Latin America, specifically the footwear segment, has been drawing the attention of Joor, which has been seeking to expand internationally. "It is a pleasure for Joor to assist in the promotion of Brazilian footwear in partnership with the Brazilian Footwear and to see the strong growth of the brands that the program represents", says the executive.
Created in 2015, the platform currently features over 200 Brazilian brands, which can join the project with Joor independently, participating in both platforms. Currently, the Brazilian website enables business connections, without sales on the platform. “With this partnership, the is taking another step towards further enhancing the business of Brazilian brands in the market. When the brand confirms its participation in the action, it will not only be able to connect with international buyers but, more importantly, it will be able to actively prospect buyers within the platform, in addition to having the means to sell directly to customers,” Scheffel assesses. She adds that the participating brands also receive performance reports, being able to better understand what their customers are looking for and to actively offer products with greater adherence.
