In a hybrid format, Playtime features Brazilian brands

The Brazilian Footwear, footwear exports promotion program developed by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), is supporting the participation of Brazilian brands at Playtime NY, a fair that takes place from August 1 to 3 in New York, in the United States, and at Playtime Marketplace, a digital B2B platform that congregates over 400 international children's brands. 

The analyst of Abicalçados' Trade Promotion Unit, Ruísa Scheffel, highlights that the digital platform has over seven thousand registered buyers from all continents in the world. Scheffel also emphasizes that the digital platform is meticulously curated, focusing on relevant brands that work sustainably and are socially responsible. "It is a platform of positioning for this growing audience," she highlights. The brands Dalai Beachwear, Matuschka Mia, Mini Melissa, Planet Sea, and Tnin Shoes are in the marketplace with the support of the Brazilian Footwear.

Playtime NY, an on-site fair, will take place for the first time in its in-person format since the beginning of the pandemic.  "The fair attracts buyers from the main boutiques and chain stores in the children's segment in the United States, the main market for Brazilian shoes abroad," says Scheffel, noting that, in the first half of 2021, U.S. buyers imported 6.36 million pairs that generated USD 88 million, increases of 44.4% in volume and 30.8% in revenues in relation to the first half of 2020. The brands Tnin Shoes and Planeta Sea participate in the in-person edition of the fair with the support of the Brazilian Footwear.
