Micam Milano takes place with restrictions

Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the largest international fair for Brazilian footwear takes place with restrictions this year. From September 20 to 23, the in-person Italian fair Micam Milano will feature nine Brazilian brands supported by the Brazilian Footwear, footwear exports promotion program developed by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

Abicalçados' Trade Promotion analyst, Paola Pontin, explains that only brands with local representatives are able to participate, given the restrictions for Brazilians to visit Europe. "On the other hand, the fair provided brands with the opportunity to participate in the digital Micam Milano without being present at the in-person trade show," she says. Also subsidized by the Brazilian Footwear, digital Micam takes place from September 15 to November 15, in partnership with NuOrder. "The digital trade show will provide access to a database with over 500 thousand registered buyers from the world's main markets," says Pontin. Registration for the digital Micam Milano is open through the email

Regarded as the largest footwear fair in the world, Micam Milano takes place twice a year. In the September trade show last year, 76 Brazilian footwear brands supported by the Brazilian Footwear generated USD 42.64 million in orders received on the spot and deals that began to be negotiated during the event.

The brands Madeira Brasil, Verofatto, Cecconello, Carrano, Rider, Ipanema, Grendha, Zaxy, and Cartago participate in this edition.
