In June 17th to 20th, a record number of yellow-green brands will be in Italy to participate in the Riva Schuh Expo in Riva Del Garda

The good export results registered last year - 45% growth in revenue and the best result in 12 years - still blow its air in the Brazilian footwear sector. So much so that, in June 17th to 20th, a record number of yellow-green brands will be in Italy to participate in the Riva Schuh Expo in Riva Del Garda. The participation of 69 Brazilian brands is supported by Brazilian Footwear, a program to promote footwear exports maintained by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

Considered one of the largest trade fairs for the sector worldwide, Expo Riva Schuh always brings good expectations for Brazilian footwear companies, given the great visitation of European, Latin American and Middle Eastern buyers. “It is a very internationalized Fair, which receives importers from at least 100 countries in all its editions”, evaluates the Relationship Analyst of Abicalçados, Aline Maldaner.

Sustainability
This year, Brazil will also have a presentation of Sustainable Origin at the institutional Brazilian Footwear booth. “It will be along the lines of what is already happening at Micam, also in Italy. International buyers are looking not only for sustainable products, but also for products that have a credible certification. In this context, Sustainable Origin, the only program to certify ESG practices in the footwear production chain worldwide, has attracted a lot of attention”, she comments, stressing that the certified Brazilian companies present - Calçados Beira Rio, Grendene, Piccadilly, Ramarim, Bibi, Pampili, Pegada, Usaflex and Ala - will have an activation on site, with a cocktail for guests on the 17th.

According to Aline, the expectation is that Expo Riva Schuh will have the highest visitation in recent years, as all its pavilions will be open, which has not happened since the pre-pandemic, in 2019. "Brazilian footwear is always a great attraction at the event and has been gaining even more space while increasingly adapting to the needs of buyers, especially Europeans, in the search for sustainable suppliers”, she highlights.

In the most recent June edition of Expo Riva Schuh, in 2022, 51 Brazilian brands participated in the Brazilian Footwear program and generated more than US$ 38 million in business, between those carried out on site and those resulting from the event.
