North American footwear fair should generate US$ 3,88 million

The results are in the program report and add effective business done on site and aligned for the coming months

The Atlanta Shoe Market Fair, which took place between August 10th and 12th in Atlanta, is expected to generate more than US$ 3.88 million for 27 Brazilian footwear brands that participated with the support of Brazilian Footwear, an export support program maintained by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The results are in the program report and add effective business done on site and aligned for the coming months.

Carla Giordani, from Abicalçados' Business Area, points out that there were about 200 contacts with buyers from the United States and Latin American countries, almost 100 of them unprecedented for Brazilian brands. In loco, more than 34 thousand pairs of shoes were sold, a number that jumps to 264 thousand pairs if you add the businesses that were agreed upon at the fair. “We had a record participation of Brazilian brands supported by the program, in addition to results 20% higher than those recorded at last year's fair,” says Carla.

Participating for the first time in the Atlanta Shoe Market, Ramarim was satisfied with the results achieved. “The experience exceeded our expectations. It is a different fair than we are used to, with a greater focus on the shopkeeper. We had new and important contacts”, says the company's export manager Tatiana Müller.

Paula Gerhand, commercial coordinator of Cocco Miami, points out that, despite a less expressive visitation than in other editions, buyers were focused on doing business. “We have closed important deals, including with new customers in Michigan and New Orleans, in addition to receiving traditional partners of the United States market,” says Paula.

Participated in the Atlanta Shoe Market, with the support of Brazilian Footwear, the brands Arezzo, Schutz, Beira Rio, Moleca, Vizzano, Modare Ultraconforto, Molekinha, Molekinho, Actvitta, BR Sport, Bottero, Itapuã, New Face, Pegada, Ramarim, Comfortflex, Vicenza, Cartago, Ipanema, Melissa, Mini Melissa, Levecomfort, Leveterapia, West Coast, Piccadilly, Usaflex and Cocco Miami.

Next stops
Atlanta Shoe Market was a part of a circuit of footwear fairs in the United States. The next stop will be Magic Las Vegas, between August 19-21. The brands Carrano, Lavish by Tricia Milaneze and Camu Camu participate in the fair, supported by Brazilian Footwear. Closing the exhibition circuit, Beira Rio, Vizzano, Moleca, Modare Ultraconforto, Molekinha, Molekinho, Actvitta, BR Sport and Carrano participate in Magic NY, between the 22nd and 24th of September, also supported by the program.

Market
The U.S. market consumes more than 2.6 billion pairs annually, almost all of them imported. Currently, the United States is the main international market for Brazilian footwear. Between January and July, 5.97 million pairs of yellow-green shoes were shipped there, which generated US$ 125.96 million.
