Colombia is
The fifth leading destination for Brazilian footwear exports, Colombia is getting ready to receive, on January 21–22, 2026, a trade mission carried out under Brazilian Footwear, the sector export support program maintained by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The initiative will take place in Bogotá and will bring together 18 Brazilian footwear brands.
The trade mission, which includes a showroom featuring the participating brands and an online preparatory seminar – scheduled for December – to help make the most of the business opportunity, is raising strong expectations among Brazilian footwear companies. According to Carla Giordani, from the Business Unit at the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), Colombia is among the main destinations for Brazilian footwear, having imported, between January and October, 7.26 million pairs from Brazil, which generated US$ 32 million, 8% more than in the same period last year. “The Colombia Trade Mission is one of the most sought-after initiatives by exporters participating in Brazilian Footwear, precisely because of the high return it delivers on investment. Colombia is a country with a large consumer market and is highly dependent on imports, with Brazil as one of its main suppliers,” Carla explains, stressing that cultural similarities and geographic proximity support this positive performance.
Confirmed for the Colombia Trade Mission, with the support of Brazilian Footwear, are the brands Actvitta, Bebecê, Beira Rio, BR Sport, Capodarte, Dian Patris, Dumond, Freeway, Leveratti, Modare Ultraconforto, Moleca, Molekinha, Molekinho, Repplay/Torx, Santa Flor, Santinelli, Sameka, and Vizzano. Registration for the trade mission is still open, with limited spots available. For further information, please contact [email protected]
